Help our filters missing from NAV 2015 Web Client

Please help.....There appears to be no filtering available in our web clien for NAV 2015 yet the youtube videos I have previewed show that there are filters. We are unable to carry out our work effectively if no filters are available. - What have we missed?

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on upgrading Nav 16 to 17. But during importing of merged files into nav 2017 i get error message as following:

Import-NAVApplicationObject : : [18023702] You do not have permission to modify the 'Dept - MBS' MenuSuite.
Contact your system administrator to have your permissions changed.


I have developer license uploaded, but it keeps showing me that, and i cannot continue.

Nav 3-tier SPN error

Hi All,

I recently lost one of our servers and had to build a Microsoft Nav server from scratch. I have 3tiers on 3 computers. I have my Database tier, My NavSvr tier and My client tier. Currently on my new NavSvr I have Nav classic client and RTC working fine and connecting to the database, on my Client tier I have classic Client working fine but RTC is throwing me Various Errors. I am prettu sure I have narrowed this down to SPN and delegation issues but this is where I am stuck. As far as I am aware I have used the SetSpn CMD on my domain Controller correctly but obviously I haven't as it should work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My Eventviewer is throwing this error "The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server database_admin. The target name used was host/navsvr. This indicates that the target server failed to decrypt the ticket provided by the client. This can occur when the target server principal name (SPN) is registered on an account other than the account the target service is using. Ensure that the target SPN is only registered on the account used by the server."

It is wirth pointing out that I changed the SPN recently and now instead to failing instantly with "cannot login to sql on the database" error it now attempts to load for maybe 2 minutes failing on "A call to sspi-see inner exception"

I hope I have made this somewhat clear.

Create a Certificate request for the END point of the soap web services

Hi everybody,
In a project we are asked to expose SOAP web services to the internet (from an azure nav server)
So for the test environment we created a self extracted security certificate,we did the necessary steps (-import in certificates roots etc, pass the thumbprint in the nav server,,enabled the soap services,enable the ssl in soap tab,and soap publir url we passed the endpoint we have made,it is https://xxxxxxx.northeurope.cloudapp.azure.com/DynamicsNAV90/WS. Everything is working.
Now the customer is ready to go to production environment,and he has asked to create a Certificate request for the END point on the nav server , inb order for him to obtain the Cert from a 3rd party valid certificate provider and then it can be installed.
Do we need to do something?I thought tha nav can use any valid security certificate,should we do something?
Any help much appreciated

Workflow Event - subscribers on integration event

Hi there,

I need to find Subscriber event (Customer Credit Limit is Exceeded). Does any one have a clue how to track subscriber events on one Integration (Business) event. I need to know this cause in Customer Credit Limit is Exceeded I need to add one more check - does customer has overdue balance.
If any one have experience, please let me know is this ok, or maybe it's better to have my WF Events Codeunit.

MS Dynamics NAV on Docker

Hi,

I have been trying to dockerize MS Dynamics NAV (right now just Service Tier) but I have some problems with the compilation process. When starting NAV service the service goes up and is running for a while but then stops. I can see (watching EventLog) it fails when trying to compile NAV objects (*.cs files to *.dll files).

I had the same problems on the version 1.12 as well. Anyone else is trying to work with Docker as well? I would appreciate any help with this stuff as it can simplify and automate a whole deployment process (I don`t want to go with Vagrant as Docker could offer better efficiency in all aspects).

And the main errors from the EventLog (hierarchically ordered list):

The following error repeats for several NAV objects. I am pretty sure I am using the DB from the same DVD (version).
Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Types.Exceptions.NavNCLMetadataCompileErrorException - Compilation of assembly 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\100\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$NAVSERVICE\assembly\Record27_108.dll' failed. This can be caused by differences between binaries in your installation or your database. Ensure that all installation components are consistent and up to date. Error details: error CS0010: Unexpected fatal error -- 'Unspecified error '
The business assembly for type CodeUnit bucket 0 cannot be loaded because of the following error: error CS0010: Unexpected fatal error -- 'The paging file is too small for this operation to complete. '
Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Types.Exceptions.NavSessionTerminatedException - The server stopped the session (ID: 2) because of a stop session request.

NAV 2013 Excel Export. The client version does not match the server version.

Hello guys and girls.

I have tried to export a page to Excel using NAV "Print & Send" functionality, and I get the following error:
The client version does not match the server version. You can only connect to a server with a matching version.

Client version: 

Server version: 7.1.37563.0

When I make a NAV 2013 R2 repair, everything works fine but Excel export doesn't work in NAV 7.0. I get the following message:
The client version does not match the server version. You can only connect to a server with a matching version.

Client version: 7.1.37563.0

Server version: 7.0.36207.0

When I repair version 7.0, export works OK, but it doesn't work on version 7.1.

How can I fix this? I want the excel export to work on all versions of RTC client.

NAV 2016 Phone Client

I can't find a way to easily insert multiple lines using the mobile client.

I know there is no longer an 'activate' function since 2009 so i can't just clear the fields and activate the top line after inserting a line.

There isn't a way to 'f5'/Refresh the webclient is there?

I've also tried doing a list, which works on desktop and the standard webclient, but not on the mobile client, as it makes you add them one by one and requires pressing buttons too much.(this is for use with a barcode scanner).

Has anyone run into this before?

NAV2016 Using General Journal Page 39 as web service - Field Balance is Read-only

Hi,

We have a third-party expense reporting solution (DynamicPoint) that passes General Journal batches into NAV via a web service that consumes Page 39 (General Journal).

We are upgrading from NAV2009 to NAV2016, and are testing these web services in 2016.

Using the same identical setup, when DP attempts to send a Gen. Journal batch to 2016, it shows an error "Field Balance is Read-Only".

There IS a field on the page called "Balance" - and it is in fact Read-only (it is a calculated field). The DP developers say they are not passing this value in their XML (we are attempting to verify this).

HOWEVER, they have noticed (and we have confirmed) that if we set up the Journal Batch with a "Bal. Account No.", then the error is not received.

We do not have Bal. Account No.'s defined for any of our batches, and in fact, we do not want to use them because we use 2 different Dimension Sets on the Debit and Credit sides of the transactions.

This is not a problem in 2009, and Page 39 in 2009 has the same "Balance" field.

Has anyone run across a problem like this? We are on NAV2016 CU5.

Nav web service halt and become inaccesible on error

Hi!

I have a web service to create sales order in NAV from Magento. All works fine but in some cases one of the items have no cross reference in NAV, then I get this error:

I loose this new sales order in NAV, but this is not the problem, the real problem is that the nav web service become inaccesible. If I try to create another sales order (in this case with all cross references ok) I get the next error, like the service is blocked:

If I use Internet Explorer to navigate to the web service URL 'http://localhost:7047/DynamicsNAV/WS/Page/Sales_Order' I can see the web service definition and all become working again. I can use the web service to ceate new sales order without problem.

The quetions is... Why the service become unavalilable afther an error?... How can I solve or restart the service with code in php?

Note: In windows service configuration and services tab I have configured the service to restart in case of errors.

Resume:

All right creating sales order --> Error with not found cross reference in one new sales order --> web service become inavailable --> Cant create new sales order --> Navigate with browser to web service url --> All work right again.

Changing cursor start position in a page

When I open the page, the cursor is by default in the first line of the repeater.
I want it to be in the first text box filter.
How can I achieve that?

Anybody can help on what is the function that gets called when you do a filter on the Filter Box in any list in NAV Client? I mean i am trying to write a code that is triggered when a user do a filter in the list page but i am not getting where is this function?

NAV 2016 - Limit User Sessions

Hi,

I have recently implemented this code in an Event Subscriber, subscribing to the OnBeforeCompanyOpen event.
The aim is to limit RTC users to one session, as we believe users opening multiple sessions may be having some impact on performance.

Today whilst testing we ran into a problem. If a users session crashes, and they end the task session with Task Manger, it seems the session is not cleaned up. So therefore the user is left with no session open, but they are unable to access the RTC until someone cleans that session up.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to handle this? Or is there an even better way to handle this?

So how to correct the wrong entries . Is there any journals to correct the entries.

RDLC Report Designer

Hello NAV experts!
I can’t open RDLC report for NAV 2013 R2 using report designer. I can only open it using XML editor, which is not very useful.

DISCLAIMER: I already used google and found a lot of solutions, but none of them solved my problem.

My system configuration:
Windows 8.1, SQL Server Express 2012, Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, Visual Studio Professional 2012.

What I already did in order to solve the issue:
I Installed:
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services;
- SQL Server System CLR Types;
- Report Viewer 2012;
- Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools;
- Tried to repair Visual Studio from Control Panel;

It doesn’t help. When I open RDLC report with Visual Studio and select “Open With” in “Solution Explorer” I don’t see any RDLC constructor (kindly refer to the screenshot attached). Could you please advise how to solve it? I am totally stuck with this issue, so any advice would be really appreciated.

What is the mechanism the NAV server uses to publish web services ?

hi everyone,
correct me if i am wrong,but i think that the machine that has the nav server can populate the web services without a web server. (in our case the web components for the web/universal clients are installed in another server)
So,?
1.Is there any document / whitepaper to explain the mechanism? (customer's it security asked for it)
2.at last is there any document about port forwarding etc of how to expose out in the internet these web services?

Dynamics CRM Integration - Integration Record for entity Sales Header was not found

Dear experts,

We have a system with Dynamics (NAV2016) and Dynamics CRM integration.
I'm running into a problem with the Sales Order sync:
There is a Sales Order in CRM that we are trying to create in NAV. In NAV I go to the CRM Sales Orders page, see the corresponding page and click "Create in Dynamcs NAV". After a while I get the error:
The integration record for entity Sales Header: Order,SO-000416 was not found.


I checked the table 5331 CRM Integration Record, and it is true that the order
Any idea on what is going on or what can I review?

Some more data on the issue:
- NAV2016 (46621). CRM
- From the CRM Sales Order Page, the link to open the order in the CRM works well.
- The CRM Account is coupled with a Customer in NAV and the CRM Product is coupled to a NAV Item too.
- Other areas of the CRM integration work fine, such as the NAV Customer - CRM Account sync.
