Hi,
We are having a problem with consolidation functionality in NAV 2016.
When we are running the consolidation process and we don't select specific Business Units to import (running process for all Units in a single go), NAV randomly 'freezes' during the process (it will stop at a GL Account). When you start the process again, it will run and then randomly stop at another GL Account.
When you run the process and only select single Business Units to import, it works perfectly.
Any ideas why this could be happening will be greatly appreciated.

I need to create an Excel file using Excel Buffer where it will filter cetain entries by certain value and place them in Sheet1, others by other value and place them in Sheet2 etc.
Is this possible using standard procedures and how?

Hello,

I'm running a test upgrade, from nav 2013 r2 to 2017. I follow the steps provided by microsoft. There is a section called automating the upgrade process using powershell script. I was curious, and started to look at those scripts, located in DVD media folder. One thing i get confuse is that, in application merge utilities scripts, there is nothing mentioned abut the exporting part. When we upgrade the application code, first step is to export the objects without system tables and so on. But this step is skipped, and all i can see is that they start with compare and merge first. did somebody used the provided scripts to run an upgrade? if so, then which script did you used, and in which order did you execute them?.

Available Instance Error for all of my 2015 databases

I have done something, but i have no idea what that something is!

While in the Development environment for 2015 i will be working on something, click run, and have it give me the 'There are no available Instances' error. The server has nothing in Event Viewer, nor does the Client PC.

If i wait a second and try again, it will usually work. Sometimes i have to do something in the RTC, such as switch to a different page, and then run something from the IDE. i check File->Database->Instances and it will be blank, then show up when i close and open it again.

has anyone had this happen? i think it may have been since i installed 2017(which i've already uninstalled) but i cannot figure out what else to do. i'm trying to look through my registry to see if any of that has changed but it all looks to be correct. I've checked classes/DynamicsNAV keys and the ones located in CurrentUser/Software

Any suggestions??

A table in NAV is updated from SQL. And when I open the page of that table from NAV.
This error appears,

Should any code be given in Nav for that update? Could anyone help me to find out on what is going wrong here?

Problem with NavUserPassword connection type

I installed Nav 2016 on a server and I created an instance that with the Windows authentication works. There's not domain, so I set NavUserPassword as the connection type. The application runs, but when I try to open Nav there is a "Server Not Found" error in any case still runs instance. In the event viewer there is a notice that says:

The service has been able to add service principal names, because the service account was not found in Active Directory.
Account: SERVICE NT AUTHORITY \ NETWORK

How to get computer name or computer IP when login using web client. for RTC Login mode I am able to get the automation method but it does not work with WEB Client.

We have a client with LS retail add-on where posting of one statement can last for up to 15 minutes. Not sure about transaction number on one statement but I think it's not that big that it should consume so much time. Can anyone else using lsretail say how long it takes for them to post statement on average?

We are using NAV2013 (R1), and have an issue which is probably more a Windows thing than NAV. But I am scratching my head none the less. For a couple of users when they click a page action that uses the DOWNLOAD() function to download and open a file, the wrong application opens it. The file is of extention ".edi", and Windows is set to use notepad to open up files with that extention. But for some unkown reason Adobe Acrobat tries to open the file. Would anyone know where that setting is at all? I have loooked in the registry, in the programdata folder of the PC, the NAV client settings file but to no avail.

I'm trying to add a hyperlink to the Custom Report Layout which I can create dynamically in NAV.

For example, I am editing the R1305 Sales - Confirmation report. I have added my new fields to the LetterText DataItem and I can get them to show up on the Email that is sent out.

However, when I try to make this a Hyperlink the XMLMapping is not replaced with my URL (if I insert the XMLMapping text into the Hyperlink editor) and I cannot select Hyperlink when one of the mappings is selected.

Is this possible?

I installed Help Server in a separate server, but in every users's local "ClientUserSetting", the "Help Server" is the Client server itself (Default value?), I can change the setting in "ClientUserSettings", problem is we have several hundreds users and how to make sure the new user will have the correct "HelpServer" in their "ClientUserSetting"?

Will re-install RTC client help?

By the way, version is NAV 2016.
