CURRENCIES (NA) Update Exchange Rates using Float Rates

I am trying to setup Float Rates for my client to update the currency rates daily with Job Queue however I can't seem to get past a few error messages. The latest one is:

A call to System.Xml.XmlDocument.SelectNodes failed with this message: Expression must evaluation to a node-set


Has anyone been successful in setup for the United States using Float Rates? or is there another free service that could be suggested?

Polish caracters in report labels

[On NAV2015]

When copying translated texts in Report Label Captions I loose some special caracters in polish language
In fact this caraters are replaced by "?"
Is there any way to get this special caracters like S with accent or L with crossing line ?

Add-Ons for service, aftersales, RMA?

I don't have a full requirement list but I would look at any add-ons in this area. I don't like the standard Service granules because they are repair oriented. What we are looking at it is cutting down returns. So for example (we being a distributor) a device is brought back to a shop, they scan the the customer's bill, upload it with a basic problem description in a web form, send it to the service center, they make a proper diagnosis, there are rules built in the system in which fault case to repair, which fault case to issue credit note and which case to argue with the customer or something. Again, given that I am not looking at a custom development, I have no full requirement list, we actually want a tool that already has some industrial best practices in it, a tool that teaches us how to do this process well :)

Is there an add-on list published by Microsoft? Last time I saw a PDF Add-On Catalogue was 10 yrs ago...

Caption problem in NAV 2018 pages

Hello all,

I encountered a wierd problem with NAV 2018 CU8 web client. Even though we installed the Turkish language module, page controls which have specific captionML (captions are defined on page, they don't come from source table) only show ENU captions. If ENU caption is nonexistent then the control does not have any caption at all. NAV 2017 web client didn't have that problem. I think it is not something specific to Turkish module. Where should we start to peek into?

disable options for specific users using boolean

Hi everyone, I'm using nav 2016 and I need in sales lines to prevent some specific user to delete a sales line record (right button of mouse and delete line ctrl + del)

And I need also to prevent this user of change a item quantity if its unity of meause is different of "kg" (pound).

I want to use a boolean var in the enable check system, but my doubt is how to do this in the delete (in a sales line list of item the user cant delete a specific line for example)

Dynamics NAV 2013R2 and DotNet35 calls to Windows 10

I am running Dynamics NAV 2013R2 on a Server 2008R2 with SQL2008 on the server. I recently rolled out some new computers running Windows 10 and Office 2016 and when we try to open documents from NAV it takes over a minute for the DotNet call to open the document on Word on the users computer. This problem seems to be isolated to the Windows 10/Office 2016 machines. When I run the same request on Windows 8.1Pro with Office 2013 it takes 10 seconds to open the file from the server. On the Windows 10 machine, if I browse to the document storage area on the server and select a word document it takes the same 10 seconds to open it. So the issues seems to be the DotNet call from NAV that is chocking. One last piece of additional information: In order to install the NAV client on a Windows 10 computer, we were required to installed DotNet 3.5 first because it is not native in Windows 10 by default. On some of the machines it was added using "Windows Features" and on another computer it was added from a separate install file. Neither seems to make a difference.

Any Suggestions??

Where is the security model setting in NAV 2018?

I must have missed something in between versions, but we have just moved to 2018 and I cannot locate the security model setting that used to be on the Advanced tab of the Alter Database screen. When making changes to tables it is giving online users permission errors and other obscure errors. Before we used to be able to change the security model from "Enhanced" to "Standard" which meant we could make table changes without needing to schedule it outside of hours if necessary.

I don't know if there is any special property, like a SQL collation, or something that suports saving the data in this format.

How to use TESTFIELD in extensions v2?

Hi all, I've got a question that is most likely just me being dense; but I can't find the correct use of TESTFIELD when using it in extensions :neutral:

In the "old" time TESTFIELD(Type); would make the system check whether Type was empty or not, and throw an error if it was empty. And TESTFIELD(Type, Type::Item); would throw an error if the Type was anything other than Item.
But if I try to use TESTFIELD in the extension constantly get a error saying: The call is ambiguous between the following methods or properties: 'TestField(Joker, Integer)' and 'TestField(Joker, Integer)'

And this is regardless of me trying to make sure a field has a value, or making sure that it has a specific value. What am I missing here?
Please don't tell me I have to make IF THEN ELSE sentences to handle this.

I am a complete beginner in web services. Can anyone please help me in call an external asmx web from NAV 2016 and pass a parameter during the call?
I understand this is not a step by step training forum, but a step by step process in calling the web service and then passing a parameter will rescue me.

Shelf label printing. Label should print horizontally not in vertical manner like row wise.

Hi All,

i developed a shelf label 1X8 which worked properly, But now my client need a change.
when he is printing with 10 labels last two labels print first one then below second one.

He needs to print 2nd label just right side of first one.

to resolve this i took a matrix and deleted its row only kept column group.
i just dragged old layout in my matrix rectangle and deleted its row group(=math.ceiling(rownumber(nothing)/2).
and put a new group on column group((rownumber(nothing)-1) mod 4)

report is working fine until it is not getting job to print more then 8 labels. For 9 labels i am getting this error
Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Rendering output for the report failed and the following error occurred: (processing): ScalableList: Index 1 outside the allowed range [0::0]
OK

any one have solution then please help.

Ribbon from previous page being shown over next page?

Hi everyone, on nav 2017 we are having issues with the ribbon from a previous page is still showing when navigating to a different page. Only a couple of users are affected and have to restart nav to fix it, recently they have had their PC's upgraded but has not made a difference to this.
