Hello Good day,

I need to change NAV USER's Password, my credential type is Windows Authentication but my ClientUserSettings.config in C:\Users\IISI-DEV-3-PC\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\110 Folder's <add key="ClientServicesCredentialType" /> is value="UserName". I tried changing the password through Domain but it still login when I use the old password

I've created some permission sets with security filters on certain fields - standard fields in standard tables.

I've assigned those to two different users. They have exactly the same permission sets, but for some reason it works fine for one user but there is no filtering for the other user. I don't understand what might possibly be wrong.

The customer is using Nav2017 - version 10.0.18197.0

Hi boys and girls,

I am trying to copy the Account Schedules' Capital Structure, but it would just not let me do it..
I managed to copy/paste the Account Schedule with Copy Rows/Paste Rows, but once I click on the Edit Account Schedule, copy the rows and the Paste option is just missing.
I went to tables 84 and 85 but on both of them the PasteRows option was Yes...
The version is 2017

Could you help me with this one, please?

Hi.

I have a XMLport with different tables to export.
Now I want to export every table into a seperate file with a predetermined filename.

Is there a way to do this or do I have to create a XMLPort for every single table?

Dear Sir,

We're not able to compile any object in NAV 2016 Database while working remotely. Suppose NAV SERVER & SQL SERVER are installed in a Machine Called 'PC1' & we are trying to modify & compile its object from a Client Computer. The following error is popped up from the machine.



The Firewall/Anti Virus application are temporally off though it's not working.

What could be the actual reason ? Kindly reply.

I've just recently upgraded from CU1 to CU2 of Business Central on-premises and now I can't synchronise the schema via Powershell & the NAV RTC will not run at all.

The error makes no sense as I've closed all sessions and other than the BC130 service nothing is accessing the database (other than my Powershell command).

The exact error is:

sync-navtenant : The operation could not complete because a record was locked by another user. Please retry the activity.

This is a very frustrating show-stopper as I have no clue what is causing this & can't get past it. PLEASE help!?

As per subject when launching RTC I receive this error. I've added my user account so it's not that and the service is up and running without issue (also the schema is synchronised). I'm wondering if it's license related and if so how on earth to get a reseller license for BC NAV 2018 as the only options in the license configurator on partner source are up to NAV 11, no mention of BC.

As you can imagine this is a show stopper. So MANY thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

Good day ,

I've just create a new sandbox, and I start to develop about it, I have a lot versions of the app that I developed in my docker, and when I finished, I created a new project using sandbox, but I don't know why, It seems that it remind one of versions, I think that it could be in memory, and when I publish my app, Visual studio tell me that the table already exist. I already review if in my sandbox I have any extension, but is the first extension that I make it.




I put my launch.json and my app.json just in case....

Hi everyone,

the table sales invoice header has a fields "No. Printed". I would like to count this field when the report is printed. I've checked the standard report (Report 1306). It works fine unless it cannot be previewed.

How can I count the field "No. Printed" when the report is printed or saved and the report still be previewed?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to connect a windows client to a remote server, and I'm finding issues. It's my frist time I'm not using clickOnce, so any help will be really appreciated.
The instance in the server is configured like this:


The publi IP for the server is XX.XX.XX.XX

I'm trying to connect from the vlient to this direction:

XX.XX.XX.XX:7046/DynamicsNAV110

And I see this error:



"Cannot find any server in "net.tcp://......" The URL is incorrect or the server os not available actually"

Am I trying correctly? Have I forgot any configuration?

Nav 2009 R2

Hello, As we have imported Thousands of Contacts via Data Migration, we have a number of Contacts that are duplicated.

We have setup the Duplication Search String to look for the first & last 5 letters of the name & first 4 letters of the Post Code (We are in the UK) & this brings through 14000 entry's in the duplication table which we need to review.

What we had hoped was to give this information to a Third Party Company to DeDup the Contact Table, clean up the Data - i.e. Add missing Telephone numbers, Ltd, Plc information & then be able to import this back into Nav, but we have found that the Third Party would not be able to see if any potential duplicated Contact actually had Flow Fields populated against them, i.e. Opportunity's, interactions, To-Do's so they want us to clean the Contacts Table before they can add their extra information.

My questions are, has anyone else had to go through this exercise, if so how:-

Internally or through a Third Party?

Any suggestions for best practice on this or how to setup the Duplication Search String any differently to produce accurate results?

I am modifying a report in Dynamics NAV 2016 with the SQL Report Builder. Its based in the 206 Sales invoice report. In the header it uses an array of length 8 for the address. But if for example the total use of the array is 4 and I want to add a field right after the customer address (its VAT) there will be 4 empty spaces, like this:

I would like to show:

So I though I could create a text variable, iterate the array and then add whichever text after (VATNoText in this case). In between each iteration I could add a sort of new line jump command for the report builder. then I could pass this variable through the "=Code.SetData(Cstr....." to a box with can shrink and can grow set as true via Code.GetData(X,1)

I have tried adding the following between each iteration:

It just shows as plain text, and when the string reaches the length of the text box it jumps line.

Hi experts,

is there a standard way in NAV to track items consumed in manufacturing over to the output?

Some of my consumed items contain lots, some serial numbers. The output item is tracked by serial number. I want to find out, which output item by serial no. contains which consumed item by lot or serial no.

I have to produce substantial quantities, so creating a separate production order for each item to produce is not an option.

If this needs customization, how would you go about it?

Have you done such a thing already, and how well does your solution work?

Hi all

I'm having an issue with special characters in email subject and attachment filenames. I've tried lots of different versions/builds (2017 and up).

I'm using the standard 'Send' action on the Post Sales Invoice card using Email: Yes (Prompt for Settings)

If I put 'æ' in the subject and send using SMTP (un-tick the 'Edit in Outlook') it will show up as 'æ' in the email.

If I put 'æ' in the subject and edit the email in Outlook before sending it, it will work correctly.

I know it's an encoding problem because when it fails the 'æ' has been encoded as =C3=A6 but when it works it has been encoded as =E6 but I have no idea what I can do to fix this.

Interestingly if I put in lots of special characters the entire string is Base64 encoded and everything works fine!

Deal All,

Recently we have migrated one DB from NAV 2013R2 to NAV 2018. After migration everything works fine but having strange issue for random users for random standard reports (Ex.: Detail Trail Balance, Trial Balance etc..). when user clicks on reports, below error occur. However, from server it's works fine.



Error is also not consistent. sometimes user able to open and sometimes not. Also some users can able to access reports and some users can not.

I have tried below activities but could not get success:
1) Un-Install and Install NAV 2018 Client again
2) Update OS in users Machine & check .Net framework
3) Compiled all objects and build server application Objects
4) Delete user personalization and Delete User metadata
5) There was no customization in reports even though i have imported all reports from Cronus Database.
6) Give users to super permission

I found this function 'OnBeforeSetReportLayout' in Table 77 in NAV2018. Is it possible to change the report who should be print before the report runs? Coudl anyone tell me please how to use this function?
