Problems compiling NAV 2018 Outlook Synch. Codeunits

I am getting various compile errors trying to compile my NAV2018 Demo database. Specifically Outlook Sync. Codeunits 5304..5310; they all comeback to this error:

I have installed the Outlook Sync components (and uninstalled everything and reinstalled) and I get the same errors. Any thoughts?

Purchase Item (Incl. Item Tracking for Subcomponents)

Hi there,

i am purchasing an item that consists of serveral subcomponents (a BOM). Those subcomponents can have serial or lot numbers.
When I receive the item, I want to be able to enter serial and lot numbers for the subcomponents so that I can afterwards see which subcomponents were used in my purchased item.

Is it somehow possible?
Do I need to create a production order for this although we are not producing anything?

NAV2016 Web Client - Safari 11.0.2 Logon issue

Hello everybody,

i want to ask if anyone have my same issue: i've deployed NAV Service to allow acces from Web client.
It works fine with IE and Chrome and with just HTTP level (no certificate involved). Only a few employees of our customers are using both macOSX and iOS with Safari 11.0.2 installed. From msdn web client requirement page, i've found that these version of Safari are supported by NAV2016:
Safari 8.4 on iOS (iPad).
Safari 8.0.8 on OSX.

However, by these device the logon is requested on loop:

Could be a version-related issue?
The NAVService for web client is configured to use WindowsAuthentication. The web page root is defined on same server of NAVService. maybe could be related to the AuthType of the NAV Service?

Any help is appreciated.

Roll Back Posting Routines

Hi all,
I have created qty assemble to order in Service Order
I follow all the steps and codes from sales order
but the thing is if there is an error, then it will posted half way (there are records in Service Ledger Entry & Item Ledger Entry, but no service shipment and invoice)
Scenario :
Line 1 (no qty assemble to order)
Line 2 (with qty assemble to order)
Line 3 (no qty assemble to order) -> for example here is the error

then Line 1 and 2, already posted to service ledger
I want to follow like sales order.
if there is an error in any line, then it will not create any lines in service ledger
any clue what i miss?

Push Data for different database

Hi All,
I have a question. what is the best and safest way to push data from DB01 to DB02
assuming these 2 DBs are same structure.
for example I created data in Item Card in DB01
then i want to be sync every 1 hour to DB02.

options are :
1. export data from DB01, import from DB02
2. use store procedure
3. any other options?

Labelprint on decental location - app or

Hi,
We have setup where NAV is running on server in cloud. Clients are running remote, and webclient is up and running.
A decental warehouse, needs to print item labels.
Wanted solution is to set up a labelprinter at warehouse, and labels to printer using a app.

I see that Bartender has a solution with a webserver etc, which seems a bit overkill in this scenario.
Could a report be made, that generates PDF, which we send to Iphone/Ipad device, and just prints from there directly to network/wifi printer? I tend to think that just sending a PDF to the printer could give us problems with a Brother QL-580N termal printer with label roll.

Any good solutions to this?

RDLC report on Zebra printer - orientation being ignored

Client is running 2017 build 17972, printer is a Zebra GK420D.

I have a fairly vanilla item label that should be printing on a 10.5w x 7.5h cm label. I've entered the correct page size into the report settings and I have margins that should be sufficient and the report body size is slightly less than page size less margins (cangrow set to false for all fields). The problem is that even though the report should be printing in landscape, it is trying to print in portrait (prints across 2 labels, clearly in the wrong orientation). Just for kicks, I redid an alternate version of the report that is printed in portrait with the text box properties for "WritingMode" set to Vertical so that text is rotated 90 ° and the darn thing prints incorrectly in exactly the same wrong way as it is in the landscape version of the report, which makes no sense to me. Both versions of the report preview correctly in print layout mode and appear to be correct if printed to a non-Zebra printer.

I've experimented with different settings both in the printer settings and with the zebra configuration utility and there does not appear to be any combination of settings that results in the correct label being printed. This particular client would be willing to have me redo the report for portrait (non-rotated text) but I have another client with the same problem for whom that is not a feasible solution.

Does anybody have any idea what the issue might be?

NAV 2018 Installation - Setup.EXE quits with no errors or warnings

Hi All,

I am trying to install NAV 2018 on Windows 2016 Standard server. The trouble is that when I click Setup.exe from the root of the downloaded image file, it asks for elevated permissions, and granted that, it quits immediately with no errors or warnings. There is nothing left in Event Log either

I am trying to install NAV using my account, which is a member of local Administrator group, but it is not a member of Domain Admins or such.

Any clue please?

How to show more lines in a subpage of a worksheet

Hello,
We build a worksheet with a subpage to enter the ordered Qty in a temp field from the 'offer-lines', to copy them to the sales lines. The sales Lines are shown in the subpage of the worksheet. How can change the size of this subpage? I want to show more lines. De "double lines" do not show up moving the mouse.

Webclient not showing correctly when not on localhost

Hi,

The WebClient at a customer is no longer displaying correctly. If I acces it by localhost it is working fine, but if I access it by the actual hostname it is looking strange. - Any help that could guide me in a direction of a solution is appreciated

NAV2018: VSCode UpgradePerCompany/Database

Hi all,

It seems that when you republish an extension from VSCode (CTRL +F5) all the data inside the tables of your extension is removed.
I've read all there is to read about upgrade codeunits but it does not seem that OnNavAppUpgradePerCompany and OnNavAppUpgradePerDatabase works yet for extensions (with the use of NAVAPP.RestoreArchiveData of course)?

Last update I could find about this can be found here: https://github.com/Microsoft/AL/issues/62

Does anyone else have any information when we can expect this feature? If we can't upgrade our data then we can't republish any extensions (even if both publications are identical) which means we can't use extensions :-)

Renaming G/L Accounts

Hello Everyone !

It's well known that in previous versions of Dynamics NAV you were having the ability to rename G/L accounts with posted transactions. However, starting from version 2015 or 2016 (not sure really) Microsoft disabled this feature. I was wondering why did they do that.. I mean the structure of COA in NAV is totally dependent on the numbering of accounts and thus you may have the need to rename your accounts in case you decided to do some restructuring for your COA. So I can't see the point of preventing such cool feature really. does anyone know ?

VS Code - Extension -> modify existing codeunit

Hi,

Let's say I would like to develop an extension using VS code and AL that requires me to modify an existing codeunit.

What is the approach to this and how is this done? Is this even possible? How does the syntax look like?

Extending a table and a page is simple, but how should I handle codeunits? I have a couple of thoughts and ideas, but those would require me to modify (potentially) standard codeunits in one way or another. (Even if just to trigger an event that I have subscribed to.)

Codeunit 397 Mail not working after upgrade

After an upgrade from NAV 2009 R2 to NAV 2015, the codeunit 397 does not work on all clients anymore.

Some of the clients run Office 2010 where it works perfectly. But the clients with Office 2013 no new email is being generated. The message that asks for permission to access automation still appears, but after clicking on Always allow nothing happens.

Is the behavior of this codeunit in any way different when using Office 2013? After adding the Outlook Inbox to the Rolecenter it showed an error message which I believe is related to the issue with codeunit 397:

Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._Application'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{00063001-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: Interface not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040155).

Does anyone have any idea about this? Never seen that before ](*,)

When trying to compile Table 27, am getting following error

Could any one suggest how to handle and resolve it?.
